Overview

DropBee.au ("we", "us", "our") operates the DropBee website (dropbee.au) and the DropBee Chrome extension. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

This policy should be read alongside our Terms of Use.

Website (dropbee.au)

Data we collect

• Email address — if you subscribe to suburb alerts or our newsletter. This is stored securely in our database and used only to send the alerts you signed up for.
• Usage analytics — we use a third-party analytics provider to understand how the website is used. This includes interactions such as page views, suburb searches, sign-ins, watchlist activity, and saved properties. The provider uses first-party cookies and local storage on dropbee.au to recognise returning visitors, and for logged-in users we link this activity to your account (your user ID and email). The provider may also receive your IP address and derive your approximate location (country, region, city).

Data we do NOT collect

• We do not collect personal identification information (name, phone, address) unless you voluntarily provide it through our contact or lead forms.
• We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. Our cookies are first-party analytics cookies used only to understand website usage.
• We do not sell or trade your personal information. We share analytics data with our analytics provider, based in the United States, who processes it on our behalf as a data processor.

User Accounts

You can create an account on DropBee using either a magic link sent to your email address, or by signing in with Google.

Data we collect when you sign up

• Email address — required for all sign-in methods. Used to authenticate you and send account-related notifications.
• OAuth provider data — if you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and the name and profile picture associated with your Google account, as made available by Google through their API.

Data we store for your account

• Watchlist — the list of suburbs you have added to your watchlist for price drop and rise alerts.
• Saved properties — the individual properties you have saved to your account.

Your account credentials are managed securely. We never store your password in plain text.

Chrome Extension

The DropBee Chrome extension shows price drop history for property listings on supported real estate websites.

What the extension does

• When you visit a property listing on supported real estate websites, the extension reads the listing URL to identify the property.
• It sends a read-only request to our public database to fetch the price history for that property.
• It displays a small overlay panel on the page showing the price change timeline.

Crash and error reporting

If the extension encounters an error, it automatically sends a crash report to a third-party analytics provider (US-based). These reports contain:

• The error message and stack trace (technical debugging information).
• The URL of the page you were viewing when the error occurred.
• Which real estate website you were on (Domain or Realestate.com.au).
• A randomly generated anonymous identifier stored in your browser's extension storage. This is not linked to your name, email, or DropBee account.

We use these reports solely to fix bugs and improve the extension. No personally identifiable information is collected through crash reporting.

Property Listing Data

The property prices, addresses, and listing details shown on DropBee are sourced from publicly available real estate listings. We display asking prices as published by agents and sellers. We do not collect or display personal information about property owners or tenants.

Agent Referrals

If you submit a buying or selling form on DropBee, we use the information you provide (property type, bedrooms, budget, timeline, phone number) to introduce you to trusted local real estate agents who can assist you.

• Phone number — provided to referred agents so they can contact you about your enquiry.
• Property details — used to match you with suitable agents and are not displayed publicly.
• Agents pay us a referral fee for introductions. This service is free for you.
• You can request deletion of your referral data at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — you may request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Deletion — you may request deletion of your account and all associated data (watchlist, saved properties, feedback) at any time by contacting us. We will process the deletion within 7 business days.
• Opt-out — you may unsubscribe from email alerts at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
• Analytics opt-out — to opt out of analytics tracking, contact us and we will opt you out, or you can block cookies and local storage for dropbee.au in your browser settings.
